United Way and Rockford IceHogs Team Up for Literacy, Special Game Night December 14

United Way of Rock River Valley and the Rockford IceHogs are teaming up for the United for Literacy Night on December 14 at 7:00 PM, blending hockey excitement with a mission to advance early childhood literacy. The family-friendly event will feature specialty jerseys worn by IceHogs players that will be auctioned online during the game to benefit United Way’s literacy programs. You will be able to bid on these jerseys throughout the game. If you are not able to attend, visit the IceHogs website during the game and place a bid. In addition to the jerseys, you can bid on autographed copies of the players’ favorite childhood books.
Other Event highlights will include Kids taking over announcing and other tasks throughout the night, a teddy bear toss, book giveaways, and booths featuring local authors, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Maze Books, the Regional Office of Education, the Junior League of Rockford, Youth Services Network, Rockford Public Schools Early Childhood, and more!
