GC815 and United Way to Host Book Release Event Honoring Local Children’s Book Author, August 17

GetConnected815 (GC815) is thrilled to announce The Literacy Lounge, a vibrant celebration of literature and community featuring the highly anticipated book release of Frederick Jamerson Jr.’s “If I Was There.” This special event will take place on August 17, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at United Way of Rock River Valley’s Irving Avenue Strong Neighborhood House, located at 312 Irving Avenue, Rockford.

This event is more than just a book release party—it’s a festive celebration honoring the rich contributions of Black authors. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and interact with Frederick Jamerson Jr., the event’s featured author, alongside renowned authors Gracie Hill, Flora Cousins, and James Morris.
